Yankakke!

13 seasons in a row! The only thing that bothers me about this is the fact that the division race isn't over yet! Did you see the Red Sox get out of control celebrating wildly when they clinched at least the Wild Card? No, thats because they are a bunch of whiney losers who dont like each other anymore.
2 games back with 3 to play I still think they can do it, it's up to the Sox to fold over these last three games, I think they will.

This video will change your view of the Carolina Panthers key players

LETS GO RANGERS!!!

The newest editions to your New York Rangers ladies and gentlemen. It's gonna be a good year folks. Drury, Gomez, Shanny, Jagr, Avery and of course King Henrik are the key ingredients to this years Atlantic Division Champion Rangers (Pending).

Trades

There have already been a few trades I have been involved in even though we are only 3 weeks into the season. Lets take a look at the trades now and I will revisit them towards the end of the season to see how they panned out. The first trade was before week 1 in Pcom, I will analyze all 3 trades that have occurred so far in Pcom then move on to Delts.

Isaac Bruce
Pittsburgh to Bad Newz Kennelz

Marion Barber III
Denver to Mountain Goats

Now Pitt has outscored Denver but MBIII has done much better than Bruce, but Bruce put up 135yds in week 2 which I needed and MBIII was a backup on my roster so for a better D and a spot starter WR I think this trade is a push, all winners, rarely happens. The next two trades have just processed and will be active for week 4, so there are no results yet just projections:

Jerricho Crotchery to Napoleon's Dynamite

Larry Fitzgerald to Bad Newz Kennelz

I am really excited about this trade, up to this point in the season Crotchery has performed better, more yards, scores and fantasy points. But Fitzy may have Curt "I threw for 258yds and 2 TDs in just over a quarter against BAL" Warner throwing to him more often than Matt "I chill with Paris" Leinart.

Maurice Jones-Drew to Wolf Owls

Ronnie Brown to Pick Thieves

This trade should favor the Pick Thieves as Sammy Morris has appeared to be Corey Dillon reincarnate, and Ronnie Brown has finally decided to show up. In fairness this trade was accepted before Sunday, when Brown had 65 yds rushing on the season. Sunday he went for 112 and 2 against the Jets and looked very strong.

There has been only one trade in Delts and I was involved (I love makin moves).

Antonio Gates
Marion Barber III to TheAints07

Steve Smith
Tony Gonzalez to Pacmans TNA ALLstars

This trade is HUGE, while I gave up the #1 TE Steve Smith had 153 and 3 last week and should see many other like it. Week 3 was not what I expected with Smith only getting 16 total yards but Gonzalez pulled in 96yds and I know Stevie will have huge weeks in the future.

Oh yea, Smith is my #2WR (Ocho Cinco...) I'm not too worried.

I also traded Rudi Johnson and Chris Brown for Adrian Peterson, yup, ADP put up another stellar game in week 3, while Rudi got hurt and Brown ran for about 30, I am an evil trade genius. Ill post an update on these or any other interesting trades that occur in the coming weeks.

Week 3 Recap

I hate Comcast, all morning I was getting pumped to watch the G-men take on the Red n Yellow. So when 2 o clock rolls around and the late games come on, FOX switches from Giants pre-game to a freakin’ episode of MASH already in progress, WTF! F#%$@ Bronco country I tell ya.
Cowboys are the team to beat in the NFC, (son of a...), they ran over the Bears sunday night while Sexy Rex couldnt get it up, again.

Steve Smith, way to show up this week; Last week he has 153yds + 3TDS, this week, 10yds receiving and 6yds rushing for a whopping 1.6pts.

Despite Stevie Smith not showing up I went 5-1 this week bringing my season to 15-3 between 6 teams, not bad eh?

This week my teams that matter, Pcom and Delts, I was faired with an opponents’ team who didn’t show up, both teams won handily but I did not put up the highest score for the 3rd straight week in Pcom but I am the remaining undefeated team in that league.

My experimental league continues to be a success and my goal of facing myself in the championship is one week closer as both teams dominated the competition.

My salary cap team needs attention as there is no reason to have Arnez Battle starting but hot dam ADP is killin it this year and I will continue to be his biggest fan as MIN has no other attack besides ADP. I am currently ranked 224 out of 2350 so not too bad.

Overall a good week, need to make some changes but so far so good, I will do a post on trades later this week, some big ones have gone down over the past week.

Making an argument for MVP II

Time to talk about the favorite for NL MVP, which I think should be Matt Holiday of the Colorado rockies. He is the number 2 offensive player in the majors, trailing only A-rod in overall offensive production. The race for MVP is much tighter in the NL than the AL but Holliday's numbers are above and beyond those at the top of the NL in terms of performance, production and consistency. Lets look at the numbers:

Holliday - 112,36,131,11,.339

H. Ramirez - 117,28,75,50,.333

Wright - 103,30,89,31,.318

Rollins - 130,28,89,37,.294

C. Jones - 101,26,96,5,.342

As you can see the race in the NL is much tighter that the race in the AL. Chipper Jones and Matt Holliday come in with the highest WPA with Jones @ 4.19 and Holliday @ 4.12. Based on these numbers and the fact that he is playing for the Rocks I feel he stands out in this class of the 2007 elite.

Making an argument for MVP

IMHO I don't think there is an MVP race this year in the AL, the NL has some interesting characters in the running. A-rod has declared he is king of all the land and there will be chicken legs and wine for all, he is the AL MVP hands down, now lets look at a few numbers to illustrate my point. (All stats through 9/19)

A-rod - 134,52,142,24,.308

Maggs - 112,27,132,4,.353

Ortiz - 107,31,107,3,.319

Ichiro - 108,6,66,37,.354

These are the top 4 offensive producers this season. All strong performances but clearly A-rod is head and shoulders above all in every category minus avg (and SB to itch). Now and MVP should not be considered just based on offensive performance but also defense ability as well as clutch hitting performance.

Lets look at WPA, or Win Probability Added.

Taken from Hardballtimes:

"The concept is simple. Let's say our batter in the bottom of the ninth hits a single to put runners on first and third with no outs. This increases the Win Probability from 71% to 87%, for a gain of 16%. So, in a WPA system you credit the batter +.16 and debit the pitcher/fielder -.16. If you add up every positive and negative event from the beginning to the end of a game, you wind up with a total for the winning team of .5, and a total for the losing team of -.5. And the player with the most points will have contributed the most to his team's win. "

A-rod = 6.49

Maggs = 5.99

Ortiz = 3.97

Ichiro = 2.06

So having anyone of these guys on your team will help you win, but with A-rod there is a 6.49% better chance of winning with him in your lineup. That means he will directly affect the positive outcome of 10.5 games this year, easily enough to make or break a wild-card team. I will post what I think for the NL MVP tomorrow, but for now its A-rod hands down in the AL.

Red Sox fans sweating

Petite gets his 200th while the yanks move "within 1 1/2".

Dear Red Sox Nation,

14 and 1/2, Ha! we take your absurd divisional lead and spit on it. Pbtuey. 10 games left and with such a small lead and your bullpen falling apart, you, red sox and co. will be very sad come this October.

Sincerily,
Joe Torre & Co.

Week 2 Recap

Week 2 recap (Tom Brady gets to tap that...):

One Marion Barber start away from going 5-1 this week, oh well, Ill take 4-2. Overall that would make me 10-2 in the first two weeks of action, maybe I should quit this whole work thing and become a FFL expert and write for Yahoo! Maybe not yet.

In Delts FFL I lost to Split Bush Wide by 3.25 pts, had Santana Moss gotten 33 more yards last night or just one Touch I would have caught him. I still had the 4th highest point total in the league, so I got that going for me. Steven Jackson, my pick at #2 overall, continues to disappoint, had I started Marion Barber III SBW would have gone down by 7 pts and I would be 2-0. I moved up a spot in this league with the loss, go figure, sitting in 4th at 1-1 with more points than the other 1-1 teams. I still feel strong although this is the most competitive league I am in and a lot can happen in the next 14 weeks.

In Pcom FFL I had the highest point total for the second week in a row, things keep up like this and I will walk away in this league with the championship and $300. Steve Smith had a huge day with 153 yds and 3 TD’s for an unreal 36 pts. The best thing about this team is that I could have scored 15 pts higher than I did had I started Jerrico Crotchery of the Jets (164 yds) over Mike Furrey (60 yds).

My 2 free Yahoo! Leagues went 1-1 this weekend, in the BDFFL I had the Highest score for the second week in a row, while in the Seinfeld league I got smoked and need to get crackin on the waiver wire as I have dropped to 7th and need to turn this one around.

In my experimental Fox sports league I pulled out two more landslide victories. This is the league of 12 teams where I have one team in each division (two six team divisions) and the goal is to meet in the championship. So far so good, Free Mike Vick at the top of Division A while the Cleveland Steamers are in 2nd in Division B only trailing by a slim margin of points.

My thoughts on the eventful Sunday that was:

Chad Johnson celebrating in the dawg pound was great, getting a beer poured on him by a Browns fan, even better.

Giants are 0-2, fire Coughlin and beg Tiki to come back.

Redskins, Texans, Packers and Cowgirls are all 2-0, what the hell is happening.

Cleveland scores 51! Don’t expect them to top 30 pts a game the rest of the season.

Steven Jackson did too many commercials in the off-season, he is this years Peyton Manning, except his numbers haven’t stayed the same the way Peyton’s have.

New England is scary, and they pretty much gave everyone the finger in their 38-14 rout of the San Diego Nickname thieves.

O.J.'s up to no good again

Well this time I am sure he won't have the same high priced round-table of lawyers he had back in '94 and that will be his demise. Don't be surprised if we hear of O.J. heading to jail for some time following this debacle.

He claims he was just trying to recoup things that were stolen from him in the past, sports memorabilla and other items of value. If something is stolen from you in this day and age you can't just steal it back. Whether or not what OJ says is true the fact remains that he is a seedy character who had yet to clear his name or even try for the murders committed 13 years ago.

In other news his book "If I did it" is to be released by the father of Ron Goldman with the only changes being made are to the title, the book will now be released as "If I did it: Confessions of a Killer"

FFL update tomorrow, 2 games in the balance tonight, 1 already lost, 3 dominating wins so far.

Week 1 recap

So this year I am participating in way too many Fantasy Football Leagues (FFL). 7 in all to be precise. 6 of the teams are in 10 or 12 team head to head formats. 1 of the teams is in a Yahoo public Salary cap team that performed phenomenally in week 1 putting me in the top 100 of literally thousands.

I'm in two money leagues (Pcom and Delts) and two free leagues that I joined for experimentation and trial and error to help my other teams (Seinfeld and BDFFL).

After the first week my Head to Head teams are a combined 6-0, not bad. In the Pcom league I had the Highest score of the week and my backup QB (Big Ben) had more points than my starter. In Delts I barley squeaked by a weakly managed team who underachieved.

Adrian Peterson was the man, drafted in both money leagues he scored an amazing 22.30 points in his NFL debut. Thats right I drafted him in the 4th round of both drafts and got called out for reaching too far, well if he gets even 16 points this week I think it will prove getting him in the 4th was a steal not a reach.

Thats all for now I will continue to update my money teams and if any interesting trades happen in any league I wil break them down and give my opinions.

This week:
Delts:
Pacmans TNA Allstars (Me) Vs. Split Bush Wide (Snarf)

Pcom:
Bad Newz Kennelz (Me) Vs. Mountain Goats (Heinrich)

I project my teams all win and week 2 to go a combined 12-0.
