Burns...
Near where the injury happened...
4 Weeks out...
Surgery was a success. Dr. Seng went in and Harvested the hamstring with no issues, then removed the destroyed ACL. Drilled a hole in my Tibia, the hamstring through the hole and back to my Femur where it was screwed down. Another screw was used to anchor the other side to my Tibia. The Hamstring Scar is about an inch and a half with the Arthroscopic scars even smaller. Amazing what they can do these days.
While he was in there he took care of the damaged part of my MCL (grade 1 tear, minimum damage compared to the shredded ACL) and reported that the Meniscus had healed itself and did not require further repair.
Rehab is going slightly ahead of schedule, thanks to spending plenty of hours on the CPM (Constant Passive Motion) machine provided by Kinex Medical along with diligently doing the prescribed excersises.
This will be the first week in the gym with weights and machines, I will be taking it easy but it's great to be able to see the progress. Still plenty of pain in the knee and all the good meds are gone...Each day gets better, pics to come soon.

We don't need no stinkin ACL's
Doc says I got a tear in my ACL and my Meniscus seperated from the bone it was attached to.
If I want to continue to maintain the active lifestyle I currently adhere too I will need to have surgery. This surgery will include biodegradable screws and using a piece of my Hamstring to repair the ACL.
Good news is with proper rehab and training the knee will come back stronger than ever.
Then I'll go back to Big Sky and stomp the b-flip over the cornice...
I'll never learn....

It's Finally Winter!
WooHoo!!!

It's snowing in SW Colorado as I write this and I will be heading to Crested Butte for a long weekend and some much needed powder skkiing.
Skiing alone in the woods has an extremely theraupeutic affect on me. I usually come away refreshed, clear headed and ready to get back into whatever it is that is taking up all my times at the moment (School, work, training...).
It snowed about 7" at the Basin last week and it was really a blast to shred the mountain on Tele's in the powpow.
Back with an update next week on the Tele-skiing, snowmobile, pow Schralping, hot tub poaching adventures.
